Is it possible to apply for tier 2 on a temporary passport?

Hi, my friend lost her passport, along with her visa (she is on a tier 2) in a recent trip abroad. She was able to obtain a temporary passport valid for 1 year and when she got back to the UK, she then applied for a replacement passport but it has almost been 2 months ago and still she has not received it.. I was wondering, is it possible for her to apply for a tier 2 visa with a temporary passport? many thanks!

A passport is a passport. There is no reason why your friend could not either get her existing visa transferred into her new passport, which is valid for 1 year, or apply for an extension of her leave using this passport.
