in India is an institution regulated by the FSA?

If yes then I think, Bank does not require to mention that Money (200k) can be transferred to anywhere in the world.

ICICI FSA registered

Post by bluegirl2 » Mon Sep 10, 2012 1:02 pm

ICICI Bank is very much registered with the FSA. It has 8 branches all around London, its registered as ICICI Bank UK PLC.(wholly owned branched of ICICI Bank India) FSA Reg number 223268.

It will be helpful if you give a print out of the FSA web page on the internet where it shows ICICI Bank UK PLC as registered.

go to -- http://www.fsa.gov.uk/register/firmSearchForm.do

In search by By Name and Post code, just enter 'ICICI' in name text box and search. you will find ICICI Bank UK PLC as the second in the list.

Click on it- and take a print of the basic details page and contact page and attach with your application.

mention this in your cover letter also.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply and valuable info. I am looking for whether ICIC Indian based bank is FSA regulated or not.

The reason why I am asking because -

I am planning to keep 90 lacks in ICICI bank in India.

Indian ICICI bank people are saying they can not give the letter saying Money can not be transferred to UK for Investment purpose. They said , they can give letter saying Money is available for me in the account on so and so date. This would abviosully might cause my tier1 entrepreneur visa rejected. Please help me other alternatives to overcome this issue.

I thought if ICICI india bank is regulated by FSA, then even if bank manager do not mention in the letter saying money can be transferred to UK,we can able to get the Visa with out issues as per UK ba policy guidance.

Please share your thoughts on this. urgent help is required.

That,s why i was unable to find on FSA register. but i ahd seen some branches of thiss bank which i did mentioned.

Any how thanks to bluegirl she picked up the right name probably she knew the name of Indian banks.

hi la,

i dont think you are understanding what I am saying. Or I am not able to understand your english, and interpreting it as the former.

(Again its not ICIC, as you keep repeating, your attention to detail is low I must say- sorry for being blunt.)

Anyway. do the following.(I am repeating myself again)

Just get the letter from ICICI Bank(India) saying money is present and that it is regulated by RBI(Reserve Bank of India).

Attach the print outs from the FSA website as mentioned by me above, (saying ICICI being regulated by FSA in the UK), to the bank letter(from ICICI India).

In the cover letter of your visa application, mention that the letter(of funds availability) from ICICI bank India is not required to mention that the money is transferable to the UK as it(ICICI Bank) is regulated by the FSA in the UK and hence this is implicit. Mention in the letter that in this regard you have attached the print out of the FSA register(from FSA website) showing ICICI Bank UK PLC being FSA registered. And hence the money is transferable to the UK

I think this should do the job.

Now I am able to understand in detail. Means If I am able to get letter as mentioned below and along with that If I attach print outs FSA, then it will not create any issues for entrepreneur visa. Please confirm.

On ICICI bank letter head:

Towhomesoeveritmayconcern

This is to confirm that.

ICICI bank is approved by reserve Bank of India. Mr Ramesh holds current account No XXXXXXX in this bank.

As per today 15-October-2012 the balance in his account is Rs. 50 Lakhs rupees ( GBP: 60K pounds).

Mr Ramesh has access to his account.

You NEED to read and understand what others here have written. You are just repeating yourself and making others repeat themselves. The bank letter needs to have the following information:

i) ICICI bank is regulated by the Reserve Bank of India.
ii) Account number, account type, account holder's name, account holder's address
iii) Account balance in Rupees as well as Pounds
iv) The money is available to the account holder.

Attach the FSA print out along with this letter

Hi rajm2012 and la,
I am currently in a similar situation as I am showing 40k in my uk account and 11 k in ICICI bank in india. I am making my application next. As this thread is fairly old, can anyone confirm whether UKBA approved the ICICI bank validity as regulated by FSA?

ICICI Bank in india has denied to mention that the funds are transferable to UK and that is the reason why I want to make sure that if take a standard letter from the bank and attache the FSA website link as mentioned by rajm2012 to fulfill the funds transfer requirements.

Any information related to my query would be highly appreciated.

many thanks
