Marriage Certificate (WP +Tier 2)

Post by chuba2012 » Tue Sep 11, 2012 9:47 pm

We are due to attend our appointment for ILR on the 14th of September. My wife is applying with me as a Tier 2 dependant. However we cannot find our marriage certificate. Is it absolutely necessary to have this? We have got cohabitation documents mainly bank statements, school letters and GP letters going back 2 years. Am I right in assuming that this is enough?

UKBA was satisfied that your then dependent visa applicant was your wife. I think that is proof enough. If you cannot find the marriage certificate, there is nothing you can do about it. So, if asked, simply give the honest answer that you couldn't find it, and ask if they would use something else. However don't even mention or talk about marriage certificate unless the CW asks for it. Good luck.
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.

Glad to say that we found our marriage certificate a day before our appointment (Appt was 14/09/2012). We were however not asked for it. Thanks a lot.
