Unmarried Partner Visa - Evidence of Living Together

Post by samandgrant » Wed Sep 12, 2012 12:17 pm

Hi Everybody,

We are first time posters, but I will try and keep this as simple as possible.

My partner and I are in the process of compiling an UPV FLR(M) application. I am British and my partner is American.

We have been living together since Septemeber 2009, when she moved here on a Tier 4 Student Visa. In November 2010 she applied for and succesfully recieved an PSW Visa. This expires in January.

We have been in a relationship since late 2007 and have a variety of evidence, both in our passports and from a few boarding passes of how serious our relationship has been.

----

Since living together we have lived at four different addresses - and this is the main concern we have.

From Sep 2009 - July 2010 we lived together in a 1-bed flat where the tenency agreement was in my name and so were the bills. I have a letter from the landlord saying he was aware we were both living there. We have bank statments and mobile phone statements for her at this address.

From July 2010 - January 2011 we lived together at my Mother's house. Again, bank statements for both of us were delivered to this address, plus a few other official documents.

From January 2011 - November 2011 we lived together in a shared apartment with a very dodgy lease agreement (one page, not even in proper english) that we lost in our most recent move. We decided not to have a bank statements delivered to this address because we didn't trust the other occupants. It is this address that we are concerned about.

What evidence we do have is as follows:
- Medical cards for both of us delivered at the same time to the address early into our stay there (middle of Feb)
- An NHS appointment letter for me delivered to the address in the middle of the time we were living there.
- Employment tribunal documents for my partner (she was the claiment) with this address visible and delivered to that address at the end of the time we were living there.
- One medical record for my partner from our time living there dated in the middle of that time and clearly displaying the address. As this is a copy of medical records, we are getting a covering letter from the Doctors surgery saying it is a true reflection of my partner's medical record.
- One medical record for me dated in the middle of the time that we were living there. This has our address displayed, but as it is a copy I am also getting a covering letter made.
- I am currently trying to get a letter from the lady who collected rent from the shared property that states we were living there during this period, but I haven't managed to obtain this letter yet (I also don't know how helpful it will be).

From January 2011 we have had a joint bank account as well as individual bank accounts. Our joint and individual bank statments continued to be delivered to my Mother's address from January 2011 - November 2011. We did this because we were concerned about the post going missing at an address where the other flat occupants didn't seem very trustworthy.

Since November 2011 we have had a very official joint tenancy agreement, all our statements, utility bills and joint council tax statements coming to the same address (so no concerns here).

Can anyone give me advice or experiences regarding proving the co-habitation and their thoughts on the concerning period (between January 2011 and November 2011).

Thank you so much!

Grant and Sam
