Sponsoring parents while applied for ILR

Post by coolfella » Thu Sep 13, 2012 3:56 pm

Hi friends,

I am due to send my application through for ILR this month. I however have my Tier 1 visa valid until June 2014.

I have a plan to apply for my parents as visitors around December 2012 and it is likely that I may not have my ILR granted by then.

Given the situation is true, would I still be able to sponsor my parents in December or I need to wait to get my ILR approved?

Please advise.

Best,
IM

You can still sponsor, no link/dependency on ILR.

However, they may have to apply as General Visitor rather Family Visitor as you do not have ILR.
