Travel due for pregnancy and BC is due - strange senario

Post by ric1982 » Fri Sep 14, 2012 8:52 am

Hi,

I am in a strange situation here. I would appreciate if someone can put their input (esp. senior members)

I have submitted my application for BC and as soon as I get it my wife will be eligible for application.
In ideal circumstances my BC should come through in 3-4 months time and then after 1 more month I should be able apply for my Wife's BC.

Mrs is currently pregnant and she wishes to fly to India for her delivery. If above timelines comes through then the plan is to apply for Mrs BC right after I get mine and she could fly just after that.

Now she will be in India for about 8 months (as she would need to recover and cant fly straight after the pregnancy)

My question is that lets say if she gets her BC when she is in India and she can not fly back for another 5 months (for e.g.) can we then request either to delay or transfer to India her BC ceremony for the pregnancy reason?

Thanks

No problem at all. As she applies as a spouse of BC she can ask for the ceremony to be transferred abroad. Alternatively, I'm sure an extension to attend the ceremony in the UK would be granted in this case (it will probably be easier to apply for a British passport/surrender Indian etc from the UK).

See 6.11.22.11.
