Travelling on Spouse Visa

Post by kierton59 » Fri Sep 14, 2012 5:30 pm

Hi,

My wife has just been granted a UK Spouse Visa. We are not going to be bringing her over to the UK until mid January 2013 however my question is I am looking to book a honeymoon abroad possibly Paris does she require another visa or can she travel on a UK Spouse visa?

Thanks in advance
Kierton

She will need a Schengen visa which should be free. (Assuming your wife is Non EU)

Yeah she is non EU, is it possible to apply for this in the UK or do we get one upon arrival into an EU country?

I have read that the visa can be obtained on arrival in the chosen country, but that seemed to be for people with or eligible or residence cards. For peace of mind I would apply prior to travel.

You need to apply at the consulate of the country you wish to spend the most time in (or are visiting first).

So if you're going to Paris - then it's the French Consulate.
