applying for passport from Abroad after naturalization

Hi

Would I be able to apply for a passport from the diplomatic mission abroad . I was thinking of leave the UK for work abroad for 1 or 2 years .
I will be going after I get the naturalization certificate to hand so the only thing will be the application for a passport.

With current waiting times around 2 months I was hoping to escape before the winter sets in.

It depends on the British Embassy in the country you will be settling. For instance, I can do this from australia as they have a passport office at the embassy and can apply through them by posting my application to the British Embassy. However, it is more costly.

You can contact the FCO and they can advise you if the country has a british embassy that will deal with 1st passport applications.
