Overstayed and got married

Hi there,

I have overstayed my visit visa which was valid for 6 months by 1 year. During this year I got married and my wife is settled in the UK , she has got an Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)

Is there any hope for me to apply for spouse visa from inside the UK or will it be rejected because I have overstayed?

If I travel back home will this improve my chances?
