hi, i m new here i better go to the point.
i had made an application for leave to remain in 2011 which was refused by HO then my solicitor sent them a req for reconsideration which was also refused eventually in February 2012 they sent me a letter at my home address rather sending it to my solicitor saying that they have taken a decision to send me back home and asked to report at my local police station every week and i have been going to report since then in August 2012 they sent a right of appeal to my solicitor and we lodged the appeal in August this year and have been waiting for a date of hearing from court but b4 we hear any thing from court, this month when i went for reporting at police station a UKBA officer took my interview at police station during the interview he asked me if i have my passport i replied yes and i told him its valid untill 2014 september then he said to me they are going to make a passport for me and he told me that my new passport will be valid for 10 years and took my details about this country and back home i mean all the information needed to make a passport name dob place of birth eye color hair color etc then he said that he may visit my home address to see if i m living in a good healthy place and at the end he took my picture, finger print and took my signature and interview was finished.
but i can not understand why they want to make a new passport for me when i have already got 1 and still valid for 2 years and why they took my interview when the appeal still is not heard in court and i have been living in the UK since 2004 so DOES ANY 1 KNOW ANY THING ABOUT THAT? IF YOU DO PLEASE HELP ME. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR READING MY QUESTION.

UKBA does not make passports for anyone.Did they issue you with removal directions?
Maybe they are contacting your embassy so they can arrange travel documents.Even so i doubt it due to the fact you have an appeal pending even thou you have not yet been issued with the dates.

they did the same thing with me as well, whilst waiting for them to reply about my application they turn up at my door and contacted my embassy for an interview with them. I think the enforcement team carry on with sorting out travel document even if your application is been processed or you have an appeal pending.. If they do anything to make you feel uncomfortable or say anything you don't understand,tell them you wish to speak to your solicitor first and they will let you. Just concentrate on your appeal and make sure your solicitor knows everything. If possible take someone with you when you sign on that can contact your solicitor for you.

@peppekalle i know that HO does not make passport for any one but my question is when i confessed that i have already got my passport then why do they even have to contact my embassy and other thing is that that UKBA man brought the passport application form which we use to make a new passport and as i said earlier on that he even told me my new passport gonna be valid for 10 years. i shared my this question to some of my friends here what they are guessing is that HO may not go to the court and might issue u a visa in ur new passport that is what my friends r guessing but i m really confused and while i was being interviewed he asked me if my application turns up would i want any 1 to join me in this country from my family?and they did not issue me any removal direction or any thing

@ net5 thanks for ur reply but i was very comfortable at the interview and the UKBA man was talking very friendly and there was not any tough question so i was able to answer all his question he was even saying many jokes during interview to make me feel relaxed and said nothing to worry at all.
