Query on bank letter for funding

Post by wawawa2004 » Mon Sep 17, 2012 8:39 am

I'm outside UK and my bank can only offer me the standard letter for the proof of funding of £200,000.

i.e. it does not mention the institution is regulated by the FSA and it does not mention the money can be transferred to UK

Can anyone advise if the UKBA may accept it ?

Transfer your money to a bank that is willing to include those wording in the bank letter. They won't be accepted if its not written.

The bank is not going to say it is regulated by the FSA if that's not the case. But the letter does need to mention the name of the regulator of the bank. For example, if it's an Indian bank, the regulating body will most likely be Reserve Bank of India and this needs to be mentioned in the letter. The letter also needs to say that the money is easily transferrable to the UK.

Well, not the exact statement but yes, something along those lines.
