Born in UK vs Born abroad

Hi,

I have a question about person born in UK and born abroad (for.eg. India) where dual nationality is not allowed.

If a person born in India (for eg.) to British parents then the child will be a British citizen. Now if later on if the child acquire Indian citizenship hence automatically loosing British citizenship then can that child gain British citizenship again when he/she turns 18 years?

Same question for slightly different circumstance where child born in UK and only one parent is British the other is Indian?

It's India that doesn't allow dual nationality, not the UK. If a British citizen acquires another nationality , he doesn't lose his British nationality. However, India might require a foreign citizen to renounce his British citizenship before applying for an Indian (no idea if this is correct or not).

As far as I know, in cases the child has more than one nationality at birth (including Indian). India would consider him Indian until he actually exercise his other nationality for example by applying for a passport for that nationality.
