Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well.
I am posting this on behalf of my friend.
She is Russian and have British passport. Her husband is English.
Her dad passed away a few years and her mum is 64, living alone. She recently have twin girls. So Mum resigned from work and came to help her out. Now it turned out that her mum can only spend 6 month per year. Can anyone shed any light to this situation, please????
What kind of visa can let her stay in long term?
Please help!

This is not relevant to the EU discussion forum.
Visitors are permitted to spend a cumulative six months out of 12 in the UK, if they continue to qualify for visit entry each time they apply for a visa or enter. It seems the mother wants to live in the UK and that is not possible based on her family relations with other relatives who are resident in the UK. The UK immigration rules don't permit chain migration of adult family members unless there are very special circumstances and the requirements to be met are very onerous. I could elaborate but you are not the subject of the discussion so it's probably best to leave it at that.
The only other visas that permit entry for more than six months are work, study but it's unlikely she would be interested or eligible for those.

I am really sorry that I am in the wrong forum. But my friend was thinking of going to a EU country with her mum and get a third country residency identity and bring her mother as a EU family member. Is that possible? In that way, this topic seems a little bit related to this forum.

It's very kind of you to offer to help your friend but these are complex issues. Presumably he can read and write and has internet access; could he possibly ask his own questions? That way noting will get lost or be misunderstood (which often happens when third-parties get between the issue and advice.

I think the answer will be NO. Your friend will better stay in another EU Country if she move and her mother can live with her as a family member of an EU.

Well, she did a lot of research and she convinced that the only way she could do it was to move to a second EU country and brought her mum in UK as EU family member. I am just trying to see a second opinion.
