Cancellations of premium Service appointments

Post by hachour » Thu Sep 20, 2012 2:05 pm

Hi All,

My name is Hachour. I am on a tier 1-general visa due for renewal on 12/10/2012. For weeks, I have been trying to find an appointment prior to expiry date, but to no avail.

I was told by one adviser on the 0870 606 77 66 that cancellations and new appointments get updated in the morning. I have however no trust in them as I have found absolutely nothing around early hours.

On this blog, I see that people advise for checking at midnight. Here are some Q's you may kindly help with:

1- There is no hope now that new appointments will be made available before 12/10/2012. Hence, should I check for cancellations at mid-night London-time?

2- Would the mid-night daily checks include weekends or the system updates only weekdays? Just figuring out if I have to take the computer to the pub

3- How about the claim that cancellations are processed and made available between 6am and 9am?

4 - I can only take an appointment between 03/10/2012 ( my new passport will not be issued before then) and 12/10/2012. Given your experiences, what is the likelihood of getting an appointment upon a cancellation?

5- What are the details needed to enter to get an appointment? does it involve passport number/expirty-issues dates?

6- Or should I just resign myself to the fact that I have to send it by post and wait for at least 8 weeks ( I was told 4 for biometrics and 4 for actual application) ?

Any tips would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
Hachour
