travel to ireland from france with non eu spouse without vis

Post by sierra » Sat Sep 22, 2012 12:01 am

hi many thanks to all those who reply in advance i am british citizen married to non eu citizen and currently we are in italy i am exercising my treaty rights over here i am self employed and my husband had schengen visa issued as eu spouse .
applying for his residence card local questura wanted to get all documents translated and legalized by pakistsan italian embassy and we are going round and round in circles and getting no where .
now they are saying my husband can apply on our son residence permit instead of getting translation etc.
no one understand english over here we almost give up it should be a simple straight away process.
is there any way if we book tickets of irish ferris from paris to ireland and with our marriage certificate and my sons birth certificate whos born in uk with his dads name on it our son is british citizen als can we travel to ireland without visa to accompany eu spouse we got italian tenacy agreement on both names and bank statements etc too .
as according to directive 2004
member states should allow non eu family member when they are travelling with eu spouse.
please help us as ireland is english speaking country it will be a lot better for us.
thanks

If you are a visa national and don't yet hold a residence card, you will be expected to have an Irish visa.
