ILR Query

Post by sgupta55 » Sat Sep 22, 2012 5:57 pm

Hi Guys,

I am currently on student visa, just completed my Masters in International Management, and have been living in this country continuously for the past 7 years. My mother has indefinite leave to remain since July 2010. It is just unfortunate that I did not come as a dependent when she came to UK in July 2005 when I was less than 18 yrs old. Instead I came on student visa.
My student visa runs out in Jan 2013. I want to live in the UK with my mother. Any suggestions on how to go about it.

Thanks alot.

Through your mother there are no options. You need to look at the various categories of leave afforded to migrants (work, study) and see if there is anything suitable to your circumstances. Partnership with a settled UK resident or EU national is another option.
