Jobseekers allowance for Expats returning to UK

Post by chursy » Sun Sep 23, 2012 11:23 am

Hi

I am a British National and currently working in Malta. I am moving back next month or so and was wondering whether i am eligible to claim job seekers allowance. I have had a look on the directgov website but couldnt find any suitable information.

Would be great if you can please provide any other suitable information or links.

It's complicated and members are probably avoiding giving advice when it may not be 100% correct.
You won't be entitled to contribution based JSA, but you may qualify for income based JSA.
