Can a person with ILR live long outside UK for study

My daughter has just got ILR. She want's to take a 5 years degree course in Pakistan. I need to know whether she would lose her ILR if she lives outside the UK for STUDY PURPOSE. She will be coming to uk in holidays every year. Kindly advise preferably give any links to UKBA rules regarding this. Also who should I contact at the UKBA to get authentic information about this.
