ILR Pending - New Conditional job offer - Need Advise

Post by ragsncl » Tue Sep 25, 2012 8:14 pm

Hi All,

Could someone please advise on the following issue? I have applied for my ILR and still waiting, following are my details.

I have made my ILR application based on the fact that I have spent a continuous residence period of 5 years in the UK

in the combination of the following immigration categories,
Highly Skilled Migrant Programme - 2 Years followed by Tier 1 (General) - 3 Years

Set (O) ILR Application Sent - 19/05/2012
UKBA Acknowledgement Letter - 28/05/2012
Biometric Enrollment Letter - 18/07/2012
Biometric Enrollment - 31/07/2012

Waiting for further reply.

In the meantime, I have applied for a few jobs and have they have made conditional offers to me (i.e I have to get my ILR).

Is there anyway I can speed up the process based on these offer letters? Am I still classified to be under Tier 1 General Visa until a decision is made on my ILR application.

Even if I sit tight for the next 4 weeks (I have to give 4 weeks notice on my current job). Is there any guarantee I get my papers in 6 months (i.e 19th of November), that is assumming my future employer is okay to wait till 19th of November instead of me starting on the 1st of November.

I am very stressed and confused. Could someone please advise as soon as possible on how to proceed further?

Thank you for your time.

1. There is no harm in writing to UKBA requesting them to expedite a decision, given the circumstances. That said, I have my doubts if UKBA will entertain such a request.
2. You continue to remain a Tier 1 (General) migrant until the day you are granted settlement.
3. No one here can give you any "guarantee" about when your application may be decided upon. Anyone responding to this specific query will be doing nothing but speculating.

Thank you for your advise sushdmehta.
Could you please advise how I can get in touch with them? Is there an email address or fax? The acknowledgement letter only had a phone number for returning documents if there is any urgent need. Do you think I should call them?
