biometric residence permit card

biometric residence permit card

Hi,
I would like to know if i can apply for a biometric residence permit card after i've been issued a 5 years residence card "EEA2"? it's all because my passport will expire before the residence card and i don't want to go through all the hustle of re-apply for the eea2 again.
