New Passport Issued - Do I need to get the BRP changed?

Hi All,

My Passport was expiring on 18 June 2013, while my current tier 1 will be will be expiring on 5th Jan 2013.
Considering that and with my Tier 1 extension is coming up I have applied and received a new passport which is now valid till Sept 2022.
I plan to apply for in-person Tier1 Extension around Nov 2012.

I have a concern on my Current Tier 1 BRP. Since my BRP was issued based on my old passport do I need to transfer (or reapply for new BRP based on "Change of Condition" rule).
I mean to say is it mandatory?

Considering, my extension is just coming up in a month and half time. Will the BRP and passport(s) in it's current state acceptable to UKBA while extension or I have to apply for Change of Condition (new BRP). And also any idea of timeline.
I hope your understand , I don't want to get into a situation.

I don't have any plan to travel out of country till i get through extension.


Please guide.
