overseas nurse/carer

Post by indonesiav » Mon Oct 01, 2012 1:20 am

I wonder if anyone could tell me if it is possible, difficult or impossible to sponsor someone from Indonesia to come to the UK, as a carer for an elderly person (my family member).

My wife is Indonesian, and we have a care requirement in the UK for my grandmother. UK carers are very expensive, whereas my wife knows many people (family members, etc.) in Indonesia who would welcome such an opportunity at a lower cost and perhaps more of a personal connection than some random agency worker.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to do this?

Would such a person be expected to have formal qualifications, etc?
