EEA4, 1 month and still no COA

Post by spencerand » Mon Oct 01, 2012 11:19 am

Hello,

I applied for my EEA4 visa over a month ago and still have not received any confirmation from the HO that my application has been registered. I have tried to call them and nobody answers the phone.

Currently I am here on an EEA2 visa that expires next month.

Does anyone know how long EEA4 takes and if I should receive a COA or anything in the post saying I have applied?

Thanks!

I applied for EEA4 over a month ago and I still haven't received the CoA.
I called the HO 10 days ago and I was informed that they have not sent it yet and they don't have any idea how long it would take to be sent.
They just asked me to wait. :SSSS

I 've also got my on Monday. Now, lets wait for a few months more. Do you think they can still ask for more documents after sending a COA or that means it s all right?

Well, they certainly can if they need them. They are within their legal rights. Receiving the COA does tell you, though, that they have done an initial check for the required documents and there isn't anything obvious missing. This is why the COA takes longer these days - because they make this check before sending it. (still takes too long in my book, but that's a separate debate) On the positive side, there has definitely been a speeding up lately. Applicants in June-July mostly had to wait well over 2 months for the COA. The wait for that seems to be down to around a month now. Now let's see if PR turnaround time has improved.
