visa extension after gap of 6 months

HI
my sister did PGD and got the diploma 6 months before, afterwards she got a baby and was unable to study further. her visa is still valid till 31-01-2013. can she apply for MBA topup from university.
will the birth of baby satisfy home office for the gap of 6 months.
