Partners in separate HSMP(Tier 1) Visa ILR or Citizenship

Post by ch_26 » Wed Oct 03, 2012 8:25 pm

Please can some one help to answer.

My HSMP Entry Clearance was approved on 7th Dec 2007, but came to UK on 29th of Jan 2008.

Got my 3 year extension and my visa is expiring on 6th of Dec 2012.

I met my wife in UK and got married in June 2009(She was on her own HSMP).

We both continued to be on separate HSMPs (Tier 1).

She got her ILR last year and got her british citizenship last month.

What are all my options? considering the new 5 year spouse rule.

1. Apply for settlement as and when you complete 5 years as an economic migrant.
2. Apply for naturalisation (as spouse of British citizen) any day after you are granted settlement.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
