Maintenance Fund - Overdraft in parallel account

Post by thejeevs » Fri Oct 05, 2012 12:37 pm

Hi,

I am not sure if this question has been asked before,

I am planning to apply for Tier-1 extension this January for Main applicant + 2 Dependents, have funds of 2100 Pounds in a separate account. By a genuine mistake my salary account had an overdraft of 200 Pounds, out of 1000 Pounds overdraft allowed. Will it affect my maintenance funds status, by anyway. The overdraft taken was in my salary account, so I have to show the statement.

Let me know please.

overdrafts in separate account dont matter as long as maintenance is above or equal to threshold

Don't show your salary account with overdrawn. The case worker will subtract the overdraft withdrawn amount from your maintenance fund.

As long as you don't show your overdrawn bank statement is absolutely fine.

Hi,

Has this been an issue to you,
In that case, along with employer pay slips, will it be ok to show an accountant letter stating that I have received this amount as salary..

Based on your statement I am thinking on below lines,

1.During the maintenance fund period (Sep-Nov), my salary account had an overdraft, so thinking of below alternative options,

1. Visa valid upto 1s Feb 2013, so maintain again till 15th Jan,2013, and apply after that.

2. Apply for me first, on Nov, and later on, apply for dependents

3. Get a an accountant to certify the salary credit to my account, so along with payslips, show the accountant letter.

4.Try to get a letter from bank stating the salay credits, not to show the full statement (not sure if bank will agree on it)

Seniors please let me know your suggestion

At any point of time during the maintenance period, the combined balance (salary account/maintenance account) should not below the required par.

in your case, you have to wait until you have combined balance not below par.

Funds

Post by Shawnmirza » Thu Oct 11, 2012 9:04 pm

Hi

This is an urgent enquiry can anyone help please.

I need to apply for extension for me and my wife and two kids in December 2012 and I am maintaining funds in HSBC fixed deposit which I am maintaining since April 2012 and this can be liquidated at any time.

If I get a letter from bank would this be considered or not.

Can I use these funds in fixed deposit as a proof of funds?

Please advice as I m really worried

Also can you please confirm how much funds do I need?
