How do I vary a visa application?

I just need some simple (I hope) information. I submitted an FLR(o) application a month ago as my employer not received their sponsorship approval. I was told that if my FLR(O) app hasn't been dealt with I can vary it when I get my sponsor certificate. I now have my sponsor certificate and would like to submit a tier 2 application to replace the original FLR(O) application. Does anyone know what process I follow? Do I just submit the tier 2 application with a covering letter requesting the change or is it more complex than this? Thanks!
