ILR - Tier 2 (General) + Tier 1 (Entrepreneur)

Post by mansoorash » Sun Oct 07, 2012 7:48 pm

Dear fellows,

As per the current rules, could one apply for ILR after being on Tier2(General) for 3 year and then subsequent 2 years on Tier1 (Entrepreneur)? Assuming that the days abroad are within the threshold.

Thank you.

No, you can't aggregate Tier 1 (Ent) leave with any other type of leave to make a five year residence period. Which is entirely appropriate, otherwise everyone with a spare 200K (or access to that) would be jumping through a crass loophole in the rules to fill any gaps in the residence period to settlement.
However, it is possible to use this for long-residence applications.
