hi!
i have been almost 9 years in the country.I am non EEA national who is full 10 years married to an EEA national. We moved to the UK in 2003 and i got a family permit for 1 year.had another extension for 1 year and 2-3 for 6 months. The reason why we haven't applied at that time for residency here in the UK was that simply didn't know if we wanna live here in the UK.As i was a resident(on my OWN) in another EU country i was told that i can keep only 1 resident permit in the EU.To be perfectly honest i didn't want to be dependent on my wife despite we where quite few years together ,you never know what the life brings ,and was no much reasons to stay in the UK.Anyway after few years we decideed to stay and live in the Uk and we applied for my Residence Document which i got on 5 years. This year we sent for another extension as my wife mostly didn't work(she was self sufitient ,did study some part time courses, and i worked part time,we had some incomes from property back home)but unfortunately we didn't have all time covered with Private comprehesive Health insurance)WE didn't knowf for Insurance.never had any sort of benefits and we have good savings.Because of that insurance we didn't qualify for PR.Last year my Austrian residency run out and coz of conditions to extend i didn't qualify.IT MAKES ME QUITE ANXIOUS AS I FEEL DEPENDANT NOW .We have been together for 14 years ,10 yars married ,but you never know what tomorrow brings.A friend of mine had quite bad experience ,believed in love, had his own residence in Austria ,went with eu wife to Spain to live and was dependant on her in Spain. After 6 years got divorced ,lost his own residence, and there iN Spain his only able to extend for a year .Really bad,hes in his 40's and not easy from settled person to start a life from the beginning.Just don't want that experience to happen to me
well, after 10 years which comes next year for me how im living in the Uk,with all these familly permits and 2x resident cards can i apply for ILR on my own on basis that i live 10 years in the country?
many thanks
