Why dependent fees at later stage is less?

Post by makkan00 » Sun Oct 07, 2012 9:31 pm

Hi,
Its about 3 years ago when I applied for Tier 1.
Time for Tier 1 extension now and I am amazed to see how many things are changed.

I am going to apply for Tier 1 extension and have 2 dependents.

I have following questions and I hope one of you can point me in the right direction.

1- Looking at tier 1 application, it says that if dependent applies with main applicant then the fees for dependent is £750. However if dependent apply on later stage it is £561. It cannot be possible that when applying on later stage, the fees is less. What is the catch here guys?

2- I have young child (16 months old) and while filling its application, would I need to fill section D: Details of your representative? Would I be representative as I will be filling in application for my child?

3- On payment, one main applicant and 2 dependents = £3K. Would Home office deduct it as a single payment from my card or separate for each of us?
If I pay by cheque, should I make three cheques with required amount for each person or single cheque with total amount on it?

4- What is the best method for payment? Cheque or debit card?

I hope one of your can respond to my questions.

Many thanks.

Ask UKBA.

1. None.
2. Representative - third party (e.g. - legal) representative.
3. No comment.
4. Banker's draft or postal orders.

Thanks guys.

I was trying to find out how many photos are required per applicant?
Unfortunately, I have failed to establish that yet.

Reading the form(s) carefully will help.

Just spoke to my bank and they said that £3000 single transaction would be fine.

Can somebody confirm under what name do they make a transaction so I can inform that to my bank?

Is it something like home offier / UKBA ?

Or is it third party which deducts the amounts?

Thanks.

I am reading the guideliness and bit confused on this:

'Each dependant must complete a separate PBS (Dependant) form. Any dependant applications that are submitted at the same time as the main applicant’s form will incur a fee of £750 (postal & CESC postal applications)/£900 (PEO & CESC PEO applications) per dependant unless it is for a child aged 18 years or over. '

Does that mean child 18 year or over (more than 18) should be charged differently?

Continuation of that says:

'Dependants’ applications that are submitted at a later date and/or applications for dependent children who are aged 18 years or over will incur a charge and will not be considered without payment of the specified fee, currently £561 for applications made by post or courier and £867 for applications made in person at our Public Enquiry Offices. '

Does that means child of 18 or under 18 will be charged £561 for application by post when applied with main applicant?

Sorry, but I am totally confused on this.

So
£1500 for myself
£750 for my wife
£750 or £561 for my 2 years old child?

Can somebody please put me in the right direction?

thanks.
