British Citizen and Non-EU family

Post by adonai » Mon Oct 08, 2012 4:22 am

Hello I am looking a immigrating to ireland with my family of 4, I was looking under the EU treaty act to get the rest of the family eu residency cards and they mention if the EU citizen has sufficient resources, now just how much is necessary? We recently sold our house and have the funds for that to settle elsewhere..

Also is it recommended to hire a immigration lawyer or is it easy enough to do yourself

Thanks for any input

'I was looking under the EU treaty act to get the rest of the family eu residency cards'

If you are a British citizen, you should get British passports for the children, if this is possible. If the children get British passports, it is much easier for your wife (their mother) to come to Ireland. The parent of an EU (British) citizen child has significant rights.
