Solihull Payment terms

Post by Rajuk09 » Tue Oct 09, 2012 7:27 am

Hi All,

Thought this might be useful fo someone.I read in contacts page for solihull as "Our payment processes will change on 1 October 2012. On and after this date you must pay by credit or debit card if you want to pay for your application on the day of your appointment. "

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/about ... rson/peos/

Not sure what other modes was there earlier. And hope they still check all the documents before taking the payments like they were doing earlier.Any recent applicants can answer these questions please.

I have been to PEO Solihull on 3rd Oct.

They are only accepting card payments and they dont use chip & pin any more. They will just keep your payment page after checking it against they card you are paying with.

You will proceed to the biometrics counter after submitting your payment page and they will let you know if your payment has gone through. You have to be in the PEO office until they tell you this. Either you will be told about it when your biometrics data is being taken or while you are in the waiting room, someone will come and tell you.

Does it mean now an end to the 'no decision no payment' practice at Solihull? (which is an attractive feature for applicants).
Please do not send me PM if I haven't sent you one yet.

No it is still the same. Only the payment process has changed. When you are at PEO Solihull, your number will be called and you will have to proceed to 1 of the 5 counters where case worker will check your application. Then he will say if the documents are in order and they will issue you ILR and ask you to proceed to the payment counter and then to biometrics.

In my case, the case worker did not get time to do the back office check where they probably do the CRB check. The back office might be busy so he said if you have no criminal record then it should be ok.

i filled the payment page on the form. If you do that then they will not ask you to use chip/pin card. They asked me to wait for 10 minutes after biometrics and then one person came to tell me that payment has cleared so you can go out for an hour.

Thanks a lot guys for informing about it... I was planning to take bankers draft...

however, I found another (HARD) way of submitting draft/postal orders
At our Cardiff, Glasgow and Solihull enquiry offices, you can only pay by credit or debit card. Alternatively, you can pay by post at least 6 working days before your appointment using a banker's draft, postal order, or credit or debit card. To make your payment by post:

complete the relevant payment form(s) for your application(s), ensuring that you tick the relevant box for the public enquiry office that you are due to attend - you can download the payment forms from the right side of this page; and
send the form(s) with your payment to the address shown on each form. Do not send your application form and supporting documents with your payment - you should bring these to your appointment.
I spoke to UKBa and they said even though form http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... m-main-app doesn't contain Solihull yet, you can write a cover letter saying you want to pay for Solihull PEO.

However, has anyone paid with Natwest debit card? any problems with daily limits?
