Requirements for ILR

Post by @yahoo.co.uk » Tue Oct 09, 2012 1:59 pm

Hi eveeryone

Hopefully simple questions for you all.
My wife came to the UK in February on 2 year spouse visa. She did the ESOL A1 and has certs for speaking, reading and listening

With all the changes in the rules, I am a little confused since the UK Border Agency pages state anyone entering before June 2012 will need to fulfil requirements that were present at the time, but some of the discussions and links from this forum state that from Oct 2013 all applications for ILR will need to meet the same requirements.

1) when she applies for ILR will she need to do another ESOL or will the original one be enough?
2) Will she need to do Life in the UK?
3) Are there any other language requirements?
4) Will she be able to apply as per the original timescales or will the 5 year period kick in?

Many thanks
