Can dentist work in UK as a dependant of Tier1 visa holder?

Post by amit23 » Tue Oct 09, 2012 2:34 pm

Dear Boarder,
I am a Tier1 holder and my fiancee is a dentist. I would like to know the opportunities available for her. Can she work as a dentist in UK without any additional courses?

I read post by one of the boarders (2009) that a dependent can work in UK as dentist by clearing some clinical exams after which she is eligible to work here.

I just wanted to know this rule is still applicable, if not what is the new rule

Thanks

From an immigration perspective, she can work as a dentist but she can't work as a dentist in training. Whether or not she actually requires additional courses or training is entirely a matter for her and her employer and the authorities that regulate the dental profession in the UK, but she would not be able to work during those procedures.
