Visitor visa for mother while HSMP application is pending

I want to call my mother on visitor visa. Can I sponsor her while my HSMP application is still pending with UKBA. They are taking more time. Any one please suggest. Can anyone suggest any other way out.

What was the expiry date of leave you have/had at the time you made this "HSMP application"?
