Parents visit - bank statement in negative - advice needed

Post by rachsach » Thu Oct 11, 2012 1:50 pm

Hi All
I am 5 months pregnant and currently in a process of getting my parents to visit me in the UK. I have read on this forum that people have sent 6 months current and savings account statements along with 6 months payslip. The problem for me is that my current account statements are in overdraft for a long time however I can provide saving statements from the last 6 months with a balance in excess of £4000 and can also provide six month payslip from my employer.
My question are–
• if I include current bank statement, would it create a negative impact as statement being in overdraft?
• can I skip current account statement by only submitting 6 months savings statements and pay slips?
Please can someone help me from this dilemma.
Thanks
Romilla

Anyone? Pls can someone answer my queries or share which statements they have sent in as supporting document for their parents visa?

I reckon it is vital to show you can support them for the whole period they will be here.

If your current account is minus a few hundred it won't probably matter but if your overdraft exceeds your savings then that is not good.

You don't have to provide your current account but they may ask for it to verify your earnings.

Thanks peppekalle

Actaully my current account startements remains in overdraft of about £1200 each month but as I mentioned in my initial post I have money in excess of £4000 in my savings account so evn if I deduct £1200 from £4000 - I still hold £2800 or more from the last 6 months.

So, if I send both statements (current and savings), British High Commission will consider both statement rather than just current account statements. Any idea??

Thanks
Romilla

They will examine both statements not just the current one.
