UK born boy with Indian origin parents

Post by Geetika » Thu Oct 11, 2012 8:38 pm

Hello All,
I have a baby boy born in UK in June 2012. We look for applying for his UK citizenship after one year. Before that, I want to take him to India (Indian origin parents) for 3 months.
- Do you think it'll matter during his UK citizenship application procedure that he was out of country for so long? Kindly suggest.
- Any idea for how long can a new born remain outside UK before applying his citizenship.

Thanks,
Geetika

Is he going to be British at birth? If so, why don't you apply for a passport straight away?

On the other hand, if you leave the country with him, with which passport will he travel? To come back in the UK, will he then need a visa or some entry clearance? If you apply for a passport, or for registration, when abroad, will it cost more? Will the procedure be longer, or more complicated?
