Advice please!

I had a PEO appointment in Croydon this week to renew my visa. Turns out that I did not have enough maintenance in my account for a period of 16 days. The officer gave me a letter saying I should provide evidence of additional funds for those 16 days.

I have the additional funds in a US account, so I asked my bank to send a statement to me covering those 16 days. They sent them for 7 days but not the other 9 because the statement covering those 9 days won't come out until later this month.

So I called my bank tonight and asked for a letter (stamped, signed, etc) with my balance on each day for those 16 days. As I read the rules, that should work.

Am I right?! I am quickly running out of time and need to get this right! Thank you for your help!

I called, and the border agency said the letter would not suffice. I'm still skeptical (I think the letter should work), but I ordered interim statements from my bank just to be sure I get it right. Don't want to risk it!
