ILR application

Post by CG23 » Sat Oct 13, 2012 12:32 pm

I have managed to make an appointment for a personal application at UKBA Belfast office mid November (I live and work in Manchester but could not get an appointment anywhere else and couldn't believe my luck when the Belfast option showed up on screen after numerous days of unsuccessfull attempts!).

I believe my application to be straightforward - have been living/studing in UK for the last 10 plus years and have been working for the same company for the last five years. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all will be straightforward on the day!

My question is - does an applicant get his/her documents (passport etc) back on the day or is this not the case? I am supposed to fly back from Belfast after my appointment so am slighlty concerned that I'll be left with no ID on me which may be a problem when boarding the plane! If the documents are not returned to the applicant on the day does one at least get a letter confirming ones personal documents are with UKBA?

If your application is approved on the same day then you'll get your passport(s) and documents back. The BRP will be posted to you at a later date.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
