British Citizenship : We first then children

Post by henrisama » Sun Oct 14, 2012 9:22 pm

Hello.

Me and my wife will now apply for British Citizenship, if we are successful, we will then apply for British Passports altogether (including the children).

My question is, if we are successful, are our children eligible to apply for British Passports? Children are not born here in the UK, 13 and 11 years old, got ILR visas.

Thanks in advance.

You must register the children as British citizen first, using form MN1 (see also guide MN1). Exceptions may apply in special cases like adoptions, and for the 11 year old if born in British Overseas Territory.
You can submit MN1 applications for your children together with your AN-applications (see page 2 of form AN), called a family application. Each person needs a separate form, though.
