Employee Sponsorship questions

Post by Farah13 » Mon Oct 15, 2012 7:54 am

Hi

I have a large company interested in me bringing me on - they are well established and looking to build a team, so they aren't necessarily hiring for specific posts but trying to assemble the best possible team to lead a new department.

My questions are:
How difficult it will it be for them to sponsor me? I know they want to bring me on ... but will it be very difficult for them? (They are on the registered sponsor list already and have an A rating for Tier 2 Visas and ICT).
When applying for the RCoS - will they need to submit the applications of all those who applied - and demonstrate why each candidate was not suitable for the role?
I am currently on a YMS Visa that expires in Jan - will they be able to hire me immediately now? Will this make it easier for them to sponsor me as I am already an employee?

I am so eager to join them - however I am worried that because I am Canadian that it may ruin my chances despite the fact that I would be a great fit for the organisation.

Tips, advice and suggestions on how this process might not be so intimidating would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You have already got answers from Sushdmehta to most of your questions:

To reiterate:

Switching in-country from YMS to Tier 2 (General) is not allowed. Once you have a CoS you'll have to apply for entry clearance from abroad.

The company can only apply for a restricted CoS for a specific job with a SOC code and appropriate min. salary and only after they have carried out a resident labour market test (unless an exemption applies).
