Help-How can I apply for EEA family permit in the UK?

Post by arielyeh » Mon Oct 15, 2012 12:39 pm

I'm currently in the UK on a marriage visitor visa, will be married with my EEA national fiancée next week.
How can I switch to family permit within the UK?
I called the home office they told me I won't have to leave to country to get the family permit, but I can't find the way to do so...
Any guru out there please help....

Good for you for managing to get a marriage-visit visa; for the UKBA to have issued this (under the relevant section visitor of the immigration rules) to someone who clearly does not intend to leave the UK is really quite extraordinary.

All you need to do now is apply for a residence card using form EEA2 after the wedding.

Cool! So I can skip the EEA family permit process?
Another concern~I read the residence card will take 6 month to issue, which my marriage visitor visa will be expired for sure, will I be able to travel with the proof of application?
Thank you so much!
