Hi all. I came in the UK on January 2008 with my son ( 2 and a half years). We are from Romania.
In August 2008 I started the job( cleaning and carer I am registered as a Self Employed). I worked for 15 months, the person for who I provided my services passed away. I tried to find other jobs but without any results. Because I was a lone parent and without any income , I applied for Income Support and Housing Benefit. Income Support finished in July, this year ( my son now is 7 years old). Now I'm getting Jobseeker Allowance and HB. During all this years , I have been to school , I have certificates for : ESOL E3 Office admin,IT., Accounting L1 and L2.
My son started nursery in January 2009, and now he is on years 3 , same school.
Never I stoped to paiy by myself all the contirbution to NINo.
The next year I want to apply for permanent residence( for my son and I ).
Do I qualify?

Any advice will be more then welcome .

I don't think you will be successful with a PR application. You are not considered as a self-Employed person if you started claiming Income support, when you don't have a PR.

You were basically not resideing in the UK in accordance with the EEA regulations when you starting claiming the income support.

EEA nationals who are residing in the UK should generally be able to support themselves
without help from public funds. EEA nationals who are exercising Treaty rights in the UK as
workers, self employed persons or work seekers are able to claim public funds without their right
of residence being affected. Caseworkers should note that a worker or self employed person
would include someone whom had temporally ceased their economic activity in the UK due to
involuntary redundancy or illness.
