PSW to Tier 1 (Ent) route for an ACCA affiliate/member

Post by adnaan_23 » Tue Oct 16, 2012 3:32 am

Hi,

I've had a look around the forum and couldn't find any threads discussing the specifics for the PSW to Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) route for ACCA affiliates/members, would be nice to share thoughts and research since it's quite a recent development (Thank God for that!! :D)

Have only had a chance to read through the guidance policy and here's a gist of what I make of it :

Basically, as recently qualified ACCA affiliates/members, we have the opportunity to set up as self-employed or a company and get into sort of an accounting consultancy, book-keeping & other services business (keeping in mind practicing certificates are required to set up a "public practice", which I'm assuming most of us can't due to the 2 year work exp requirement)

Off the top of my head the first "question" would be:

How to meet the "graduate level activity" requirement? Firstly, does anyone have an idea whether its NQF 4 or NQF 6 we need to achieve? Tier 2 policy has changed to make NQF 6 the minimum requirement for new applicants, would that apply to Tier 1 as well??

Will post more as I go along with whatever research I do, would be great to get feedback and guidance from others!
