ILR with Lost Passport

Post by hsmp_aug » Wed Oct 17, 2012 2:02 pm

Hi All,

I have an ILR PEO appointment in November and the only concern I have is about my passport that got stolen in Spain in 2010. It had the proofs of my travel to and from UK.

Although I have the scanned copy of my lost passport along with the HSMP/Tier 1 Visa page, I do not have the scans of all other pages that had entry/exit stamps.
I have the original Police report from Spain, reporting the loss of passport and Visa.

I can see 2 possible reasons why the old passport would be required for ILR:

1. To prove the date of my first entry in UK.
2. To prove that I did not spend more than 180 days out of the country.

Wanted to confirm with the experts on this forum, if these are the only 2 situations where I have to produce alternate proofs or if there are any other areas that I am missing all together.

I have procured a letter from my previous employer mentioning that I had not taken leave of absence of more than 90 days till 2011. After that all the travels are logged in my new pasasport.

I might also be able to dig out the boarding pass and ticket I used to arrive in UK the first time.

Is there any other document that would be helpful for a successful ILR application in my case.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks sushdmehta. Found that post very useful but it doesn't answer the following questions for me.

What are the documents that are required when you go for ILR from Tier 1 route with a special case such as this (Previously Lost Passport). I checked the SET(O) form and there is no document requirement listed there that suggests that we need to prove the date of entry in UK. Is it also true for the "Lost Passport" cases as well?

Also, Does anyone have a comprehensive list of documents required for ILR. Please share if you do.

Thanks.

ILR Proof of Maintenance Fund Query

Post by hsmp_aug » Tue Oct 23, 2012 2:32 pm

I had another small query with regards to ILR Proof of Maintenance funds.

I have an ISA account where I have been maintaining sufficient funds for over a year that I can use as a valid proof.

I wanted to know if there is any rule around the statement date. I read in the guidance notes that the bank statements should not be dated more than a month ago. However, a friend told me that the statements should not be more than 10 days old.

Can someone please confirm which one is true.

Also, I have opted for online statements with my bank. Is it ok to get coloured prints of the online statements (with Bank logo) or do we still have to get them attested from the Bank?

Thanks.
