ICT to Tier 2 General- Refusal

Dear Team ,

I was entered in UK with Tier 2 ICT : Established staff visa and then it got extended under category called Tier 2 ICT : Long Term till Jan 2014 . I believe I am eligible to switch from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General .

if I apply for switching ( let say in Dec 2012 ) and something goes wrong with visa and it get refusal ... will I allow to stay under Tier 2 ICT : Long Term which already issued and valid till Jan 2014 . if not how long will i able to stay in UK after refusal ?

Please help.

If your application for leave to remain as a Tier 2 (General) migrant is refused, your current Tier 2 (ICT) leave will remain valid.
