First Entry into the UK

Dear Respected Moderators and senior members,

W.r.t the following question in the SET(O) form, I have a question to ask:

"6.1
When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This refers to the date of your first entry into the UK at the beginning of the period of stay on which this application is based."

I was first entered into the UK in April 2004 but I got my Tier-1 (General) or HSMP in August 2008, so in the light of this what should I answer to the above mentioned question in the set(O) form? Will it be April 2004 or any entry after getting my Tier-1 General stamped in Aug 2008?

Please clarify.

I can't work out on what basis are you applying for ILR, and therefore can't answer your question. It can't be long residence as you have not made 10 years since 2004, and it can't be under Tier 1 as you have not made 5 years since 2008. If, indeed, you are applying under Tier 1 (next July) then you can state 2008 as the beginning of your residence period on which the application is based.

Yes indeed I am planning to apply for ILR in the month of AUG 2013 and in this case you are saying that I can state 2008 as the beginning of my residence period?
