Changing employer, which version or tier 2 G would I become?

Post by leeloy88 » Mon Oct 22, 2012 2:53 pm

Hi experienced and knowledgeable members. Please help me in answering my question.

I have my first tier 2 G granted in 2010. If I am to change employers now and have a new tier 2 with new cos from new employer, say after that if I apply for an extension, would the rule for application before April 2012 or after 2011 apply for my case?

Given that first tier 2 was before, but then change employer in 2012 and get a new tier 2.

if you change employment/sponsor now the period of grant will be 3 years (+14 days) from the work start date in the new CoS, or to the work end date in the new CoS if that is earlier. After 5 years as a T2G migrant, i.e. in 2015, you can apply for settlement if you are otherwise eligible.

Thanks manci for your response however I don't think it answers my question. Perhaps I didn't make it clear enough.

Basically on tier 2 g rules, a lot of terms etc will differ for tier 2g before or after April 2011. For example 245 he, for tier 2g after April 2011 the rules of 6 years applies (ie you can't extend your tier 2g more than 6 years). So my question is, my first tier 2g is in 2010, however if due to changing employer therefore will apply for another tier 2g, will the rules for tier 2g before april 2011 or after 2011 apply in my case?
