Passport held at Airport (Teir 1 General)

One of my friend was coming back from Pakistan when his passport was held at Heathrow because his previous PSW was from BITE college. He was allowed to get in the UK but he regularly goes to sign in one of the HO building. He is on Tier 1 general. 9 months are gone, he is signing but no response from HO. He is in UK for the last 8 years. Any advice from anybody?

Was he genuine student at BITE?

When he went to Pakistan, was that first visit on Tier 1? If so then immigration officer asks some questions about your previous visa to current visa. and if you fail to satisfy then they will investigate further. It looks same her in your friend case.

As long as I know, BITE was a visa factory. Almost all students and diplomas issued for PSW were fake. So thats why your friends passport been held by UKBA. They will investigate the matter throughly.
