75 points without Self-Employment. So do i have to show it?

Post by mrneo » Thu Oct 25, 2012 10:58 am

I am applying for ILR from 3yrs Hsmp [nov 2007- nov 2009]+ 3 yrs Tier [1] (nov 2009 - nov 2012). WHen i extended last time as tier[1] i have 20 points for age, 30 points for batchlor Degree , 5 points on UK experience and 20 points for previous earnings.

That means i have to show only £23k + to get previous earnings points which i already have. But i have self-Employment as well. i prepared everything for it including Accountants letter and tax payment receipt for last fiscal year. Someone told me when you submit self-employment papers it might take more time to process.

Do i have to show this self-employment papers to CW or do i just show them my salary slips? If i dont show them, is that against any rules?

Please advice..!

if you score 20 points from your employement and you need to meet 75 points then i wouldn't show self employment.

If you are able to score the required points for previous earnings through employment, then there is no need to declare existence of self-employment and provide any documentary evidences to prove any previous income from self-employment.

I had a small income generated from doing some freelance work for which there was transactions on my bank statements.

I did not mention self employment and by law i do not have to fill in tax returns untill january 2014. Everything went fine with just full time employment.

You are not forced to show all your income sources.

What about section 5 (Your home and finances) on set O form

5.3Are you working in the UK?

If so, what is your pay each month after income tax and other deductions?

Do we not need to mention?declare all our monthly earnings here.

Thanks

I was in the same situation.
Showed my employee salary to get the points, didn't include earnings from self-employment at all to get a higher score.
Also showed my self-employment just to prove "economically active". Wasn't a problem at all.

The answer to question above has nothing to do with eligibility criteria for settlement as a PBS migrant.
